Follow these easy steps to get your Zanussi ZA 23 S Refrigerator up and running in no time.
Before using the appliance, ensure that all safety information is understood. This includes keeping the instruction booklet with the appliance for future reference, and ensuring that any locks or catches on old appliances are removed to prevent accidents.
Remove all securing tapes and wash the inside of the appliance with lukewarm water and bicarbonate of soda (5 ml to 0.5 litre of water). Do not use soap or detergent as it may leave a lingering odor. Dry thoroughly after cleaning.
Choose a location away from heat sources like radiators or boilers. Ensure the appliance is placed in a cool, well-ventilated room, and that air openings are not obstructed. The back of the cabinet should be close to the wall but not touching it.
Any required electrical work should be carried out by a qualified electrician or competent person. The appliance should be left for 2 hours after installation before it is turned on, to allow the refrigerant to settle.
Adjust the level of the appliance by screwing out the adjustable foot, or feet, at the bottom of the cabinet using your fingers.
The temperature is regulated by a thermostat with 6 positions and one 'OFF' position. Position 1 is minimum coldness and position 6 is maximum coldness. Set to the intermediate position (3-4) for normal use.
When first starting-up or after a period of use, let the appliance run for at least two hours on the coldest setting before placing food inside. After this, turn the thermostat knob to the normal operation position.
If needed, reverse the door according to the instructions provided in the manual. This includes unplugging the appliance, removing the ventilation grill, unscrewing the bottom hinge, and reassembling the door on the opposite side.
